1. How to Become an Arab Certified Intellectual Property Practitioner? (ACIPP Program Guide)
The Arab Certified Intellectual Property Practitioner (ACIPP) program is the only Intellectual Property certification program in the Arab World. The program guide contains information related to the ACIPP program curriculum consisting of four papers (Introduction, Trademarks and Unfair Competition, Copyrights and Related Rights, and Patents of Inventions and Trade Secrets), examinations, study materials, and registration information.


2. WIPO Handbook
The WIPO Handbook is the authoritative source of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) standards, recommendations and guidelines in the field of industrial property information and documentation. It was translated from English into Arabic by the Arab Society for Intellectual Property (ASIP).

The WIPO Handbook examines the IP history, IP enforcement, IP international treaties and laws , and the role of IP in development (specifically WIPO's Development Cooperation Program). Furthermore, the Handbook is a valuable aid to industrial property offices in establishing or modernizing their information and publication systems. It helps industrial property offices and other users to keep pace with, and put into implementation, developments in information technologies that apply to the exchange, dissemination and sharing of industrial property information, as well as for the retrieval of the technological information contained in patent documents and the legal information contained in industrial property documents in general.

3. Nice Classification
The Nice Classification consists of a classification of goods and services for the purposes of registering trademarks and service marks. The Nice Classification is based on a multilateral treaty administered by WIPO. This treaty is called the Nice Agreement Concerning the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks, which was concluded in 1957. This Classification is commonly referred to as the Nice Classification. The Nice Agreement is open to States party to the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property. 

4. Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property Dictionary
The dictionary consists of 6000 terms and expressions covering all term of IP (trademarks, patents, copyright, industrial designs, and models), in addition to the terms of IT, basic communications and E-Commerce, world trading system, globalization, and international treaties and agreements. The dictionary is a result of an integrated team of professionals and expert’s efforts supervised and directed by ASIP’s chairman Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh. It is a new addition to improve the performance level in providing services related to the IP field in the Arab world.

5. Translating Arab Laws
ASIP translated some of the Arab world laws such as Bahrain Intellectual Property laws as per WIPO’s request.

ASIP and WIPO will work together to develop new training programs on IP issues according to international developments and standards. These courses will focus on issues of global interest such as international IP treaties and agreements, IP valuation and domain name systems.


6. ASIP Brochure
The Arab Society for Intellectual Property brochure contains information on ASIP’s foundation, and the objectives and ambitions upon which it was founded. It describes membership registration and advantages and a brief description of ASIP activities and accomplishments. The brochure contains a briefer version of all the information provided in the Guide.


There was a successful trial of the ACIPP program in Amman Jordan during its first year which began on November 12th, 2006 and ended on December 5th, 2006. ASIP had successful cooperation with two university partners during this first year, Jordan University and German-Jordanian University.
