
AMMAN – Her Royal Highness Princess Basma Bint Talal, in the presence of
HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global
Digital (TAG.GD), and the Republic of South Africa’s Ambassador to Jordan, HE
Ms. Tselane Mokuena, along with a number of ambassadors from friendly countries
and senior officials, inaugurated a Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Station at
Mabarrat Um Al Hussein. The Knowledge Station was established as a contribution
from TAG.GD in partnership with the Embassy of South Africa in Jordan.
The inauguration comes as part of an initiative aimed at enhancing access
to digital knowledge, expanding opportunities for education and training, and
empowering young people to acquire digital and knowledge-based skills that meet
the demands of the labor market and the digital transformation era. The Knowledge
Station is equipped with modern TAGITOP-EDU devices; that are fully manufactured and produced by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh
for Technology (TAGTech) a member of TAG.GD. It is also equipped with training
equipment and facilities designed to provide an integrated digital learning
environment, deliver interactive training programs, and connect beneficiaries
to TAG.GD’s network of knowledge stations.
On this occasion, Her Highness Princess Basma affirmed the importance of
providing education and knowledge for underprivileged groups, especially youth,
pointing out that such initiatives represent an investment in human capital and
the empowerment of future generations.
She further highlighted the importance of partnerships between national
and international institutions in supporting development efforts, praising the
role that Mabarrat Um Al Hussein plays in providing care for children and
developing their capacities.
Furthermore, Her Royal Highness underscored that investing in knowledge
constitutes a core pillar of sustainable development, recalling the profound
values established by the late global leader Nelson Mandela and His Late
Majesty King Hussein bin Talal in supporting education and human development.
Princess Basma also commended Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh’s role in translating His
Majesty King Abdullah II’s visions into tangible initiatives that contribute to
building youth and underprivileged individuals’ capacities. This effectively
equips and qualifies them with the necessary knowledge to meet the needs of the
labor market through the Knowledge Stations, which have so far reached 100
Knowledge Stations across the Kingdom.
She also praised Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh’s active role in the field of capacity-building
across various critical sectors in Jordanian society, including governmental
and military sectors, not to mention the numerous agreements signed with these
entities that both he and TAG.GD have fulfilled with the utmost responsibility
and commitment.
Concluding her speech, Princess Basma reaffirmed the long-standing and
successful joint efforts between herself and Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh across various
domains, including the United Nations and community service initiatives
throughout Jordan.
For his part, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh emphasized that opening the new TAG.GD
Knowledge Station fell within TAG.GD’s remit in supporting digital
transformation as well as expanding education and training opportunities. He
also underlined the importance of providing the youth with modern educational
tools, including TAG-EDU devices, to support training programs and access to digital
learning.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh further expressed his pride in belonging to the
Hashemite School that believes and supports science and knowledge as the
foundations of development and progress.
He went on to stress that establishing TAG.GD Knowledge Stations
throughout the Kingdom crystallizes and embodies the vision and belief that knowledge
is a fundamental right for all, and technology is an essential tool for
achieving sustainable development and socio-economic youth empowerment.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Mokuena affirmed that the launch of the Knowledge
Station in cooperation with TAG.GD was with the aim of expanding access to
digital learning, as well as empowering youth to acquire skills for the future,
noting that the project primarily aims at supporting education as an economic
and social development tool.
She pointed out that the Knowledge Station will provide an educational
environment that enables continued training and access to modern knowledge
resources.
The Ambassador also stated that this initiative positively contributes
to enhancing and strengthening development partnerships and generating
sustainable social impact through youth empowerment and the strengthening of their
capacities.
In conclusion, all parties reaffirmed the project's critical importance
in driving digital education, empowering youth, and broadening their horizons
for continuous learning and development.
